HeroShield – Auto Protection Plan 

Silver Coverage*

Basic protection for essential vehicle component

ENGINE: Internally lubricated parts of the engine block and cylinder head including: camshaft, crankshaft, bearings, connecting rods, oil pump, internal timing gears, timing chain, timing belt, tensioners, gears, sprockets, and guides; serpentine belt tensioner; vibration damper; intake manifold; flywheel with starter ring gear; core plugs; valve covers; oil pan; oxygen sensor; mass airflow sensor; EGR valve; crank sensor; cam sensor. Turbocharger/Supercharger (Factory-Installed) and all internal parts; wastegate actuator.

COOLING SYSTEM: Water Pump and housing; fan clutch; thermostat; radiator; heater core and recovery tank.

TRANSMISSION (Automatic/Manual): Transmission case and all internally lubricated parts: gears, shafts, bearings, synchronizers, shift forks, torque converter, drive/flex plate, transmission range switch, speed sensors, pressure sensors, PRNDL position switch, transmission control module, valve body, mechatronics unit, conductor plate, servo assemblies, transmission cooler; transfer case, front wheel drive transaxle, all-wheel drive power transfer unit, rear axle. 4×4 components are covered when damaged by covered internally lubricated parts.

DRIVE AXLE(S): Housing and all internally lubricated parts: axles, drive shaft/axle shaft, u-joint, 4×4 locking hubs, pinion bearings, side carrier bearings, ring and pinion gears, carrier assembly and axle bearings, constant velocity joints.

SEALS & GASKETS: Covered for leakage failure on the listed components if the vehicle has less than 125,000 miles at time of claim. If over 125,000 miles, they are covered when required with a covered component replacement. Cylinder head gaskets – covered for combustion and coolant leaks only. Intake manifold gaskets – covered for coolant leaks only.

Gold Coverage*

Enhanced protection covering a broader range of components. You get all the great coverages listed under SILVER plus:

AIR CONDITIONING: Compressor; condenser; evaporator, accumulator/receiver drier; clutch; pulley; mounting bracket.

SUSPENSION: Upper/lower control arms and bushings; ball joints; leaf, air and coil springs.

STEERING COMPONENTS: Power steering pump/motor; gearbox; rack and pinion; high-pressure lines.

BRAKE COMPONENTS: Power brake booster; master cylinder; wheel cylinders; calipers; ABS hydraulic components; proportioning valve; ABS wheel speed sensors; ABS control module.

ELECTRICAL: Starter motor and solenoid; alternator, voltage regulator and mounting bracket; front and rear window wiper motors; electric cooling fan motor; distributor; ignition coils; power window motors/regulators/switches; power seat motors and track assembly; power door lock actuators/switches; power trunk/tailgate actuator and motor; power mirror motors; all manually operated switches; ignition control module; cruise control assembly.

FUEL SYSTEM: Fuel pump; fuel injectors; fuel injection control module; lift pump; transfer pump; MAP/air charge temperature sensor; intake manifold pressure sensor; throttle position sensor.

Platinum Coverage*

Comprehensive protection offering the highest level of coverage.

Covers all mechanical and electrical breakdowns except for components listed in Section V of the Contract. Examples of non-covered items include but are not limited to glass, light bulbs, tires, wheels, batteries, brake rotors and drums, muffler, tail pipes, and maintenance items such as brake pads & spark plugs.

Optional Surcharges*

LIFT KIT/OVERSIZED/UNDERSIZED TIRES: Coverage for vehicles equipped with up to a 6” lift kit or 3” drop, and oversized or undersized tires with less than a 10% variance from manufacturer specs.

TECH PACKAGE (Factory Installed): Radio/CD, GPS and Navigation Components; LCD Screens; DVD/Blu-Ray Players; Bluetooth/Phone, Alarm, Voice Activation, and Tire Pressure Monitor Systems; Keyless Entry; Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Detection; Self-Park Assist; Instrument Cluster/Gauges; Back-up Camera/Sensors; Standalone Seat Heaters; Sunroof and Convertible Top Motors.

MARKET LABOR RATE: Upgrade the authorized labor rate from $150/hour to the repair facility’s posted hourly labor rate (as long as it is reasonable).

No deductible applies to these benefits

Rental Car Reimbursement/Alternative Transportation:
Up to $40/day for up to five days. An additional five days are available for parts and/or administrator requested inspection delays.

Towing Benefit: Up to $100 per occurrence.

Trip Interruption Reimbursement: Up to $250/day for up to three days for lodging and meals (if a covered breakdown happens more than 100 miles from home and a licensed repair facility keeps your vehicle overnight)

24-Hour Emergency Roadside Benefit : This benefit pays up to $150 per occurrence

  • Battery Jump Start: If the covered vehicle’s battery fails, a jump will be provided to start the vehicle
  • Flat Tire Changes: Removal of the flat tire and the replacement with the inflated spare tire located in the covered vehicle
  • Fuel, Oil, Fluid and Water Delivery: Delivery of an emergency supply of fuel, oil, lubricants, fluid or coolant (does not include the cost of fluids)
  • Lockout Service: In the event the keys for the covered vehicle are locked in the vehicle, this service will provide assistance in gaining entry
